About
Welcome to Menu Buzz, where we explore culinary gems that tantalize the taste buds. Today, we’re excited to introduce you to Hi Pho, a cozy Vietnamese restaurant nestled in a discreet corner of Penrith, New South Wales. Despite its tucked-away location at Unit 6, 98-100/92-112 Henry St, this spot has become a treasure trove for pho enthusiasts in search of authentic flavors.
Hi Pho's standout dish is undeniably the combination beef pho. Customers rave about its delicious broth, which is rich, flavorful, and known to warm the soul. One satisfied diner described it as “the kind of meal that warms you up from the inside,” while others appreciate the tender meats that accompany the dish. It's a delightful experience that showcases what Vietnamese cuisine is all about: balance and richness in every sip.
The spring rolls also deserve a mention, often highlighted for their freshness and satisfying crunch. They make for the perfect appetizer, adding a layer of texture and taste that complements the heartiness of the pho. However, patrons have noted that the dining area may lack ambiance, leaving the focus on the food itself—a place where flavors shine brightly despite the surroundings.
While the food steals the show, it’s worth mentioning a few quirks about Hi Pho. The restaurant operates on a cash-only basis, which has caught some diners off guard, and the sometimes subdued service can come across as less inviting. Yet, these minor inconveniences fade into the background when you experience the delicious dishes on offer. If you’re searching for a warm bowl of pho and a satisfying meal, Hi Pho is well worth the visit.
So, if you find yourself in Penrith, don’t miss the chance to discover this hidden gem. Hi Pho is more than just a dining spot; it's a destination for those seeking authentic Vietnamese flavors that make every visit a delight.
For reservations or inquiries, feel free to contact them at +61 434 686 889. Remember, the journey to culinary bliss may be tucked away in a small alley, but the rewards are abundant.
“ Lovely pho and delicious spring rolls here was quiet surprised as it's fairly dismal inside to be honest. Cash only was a draw back as I had no cash and wish I'd known beforehand I do think if they had eftpos it would get more business as it's not like 5 stars so you need to entice the customers. That said it was very good not a clear broth but tasty. ”
“ If you’re craving authentic Vietnamese pho, look no further. This place is the real deal — rich, flavourful broth that tastes like it’s been simmered for hours, tender meat, fresh herbs, and perfectly cooked noodles. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are super reasonable (around $16 for a hearty bowl that leaves you full and satisfied). It’s a family-owned business, and you can truly feel the love and care in every dish. The owners are absolutely lovely — warm, welcoming, and always happy to have a chat or recommend something off the menu. You’re not just getting amazing food here, you’re getting a genuine experience. You can tell this place takes pride in tradition — the flavours are deep, clean, and comforting, just like a bowl of pho you’d get in Vietnam. Every bite feels like a warm hug. Highly recommend for anyone who loves authentic, high-quality Vietnamese food at great prices. I’ll definitely be back! ”
“ We still go here even though we don't live near it anymore. Never disappointed. The guy there is quiet but friendly enough to keep it running. There isn't really an atmosphere but it doesn't matter when I highly rate the food. No cash but bank transfer. No toilet. Kid friendly and had high chairs if needed. Food comes out pretty fast too =) ”
“ Review for Hi Pho Restaurant I recently visited Hi Pho and was thoroughly impressed! The food was truly delicious. The combination beef soup had a broth that deserves five stars—rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. It’s the kind of meal that warms you up from the inside. The spring rolls were also very good, fresh and satisfying. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back for another order. Highly recommended! ”
“ Stopped by while in Penrith for a conference, tried the chicken pho and it was really good! Feels like a hidden gem. The only drawback is the location: it’s a bit tucked away and doesn’t feel very inviting. Also, the portion was a bit small for $17 (regular size). But overall, tasty pho and worth trying if you get the chance. ”
“ Have our lunch there on 9/4, Wednesday. A little gem hidden in a small building complex, and a bit difficult to find or see their shop from outside streets (and the address is NOT 6 Henry Street as shown on the Google device, it’s actually 92-112 Henry Street!). It’s opposite to Quilting Queen (see photos), or close to Club Lime (103-109 Henry Street) and parking will be easy if you can find their exact location when you get there. But the food is delicious, the store is spacious, and clean. The portion size is just standard, not generous nor mean, and you can opt for more noodles or meat at extra fees. They do have quite a lot of delivery orders while I was there. But the servicing staff at the counter lacks communication skills because it’s hard to hear what he said (he just mumbles) and always seems like a dull voice and without any expression . Another service related issue is that you will need to pay cash, which is highlighted by the owner at the counter. But you can overlook the staff’s communication style and the cash payment system while you just enjoy the food there. Give it a go if you haven’t already tried. ”
“ I was at Penrith yesterday, and I wanted to try Pho, search in google and look at nice review and rating and decided to try Hi Pho. We arrived at 16:00. Very quiet as no one other than us dining in. We ordered combination Pho (large). Very good pho. Broth was really delicious, meats were tender. My man drank all the soup although he is not asian. Hidden gem in a small alley. Only cash and payID payment. Note: The boy at the counter look not energetic handling the service but, I didn't bother, foods were my main reason giving the high rating. ”
